Scope

The selection of types and quantities of items in the ASG publication is limited to items demanded by the afloat units. As a result, the ASG publication does not include all valid items in the Supply System.

Reference Numbers

Manufacturer reference numbers appearing in the Afloat Shopping Guide are provided only where items descriptions were developed from manufacturer drawings.

CARGO Use

To determine if an item is available from the Combat Logistics Force Ship,refer to the latest edition o f NAVSUP PUB 4998, Consolidated Afloat Requisitioning Guide-Overseas (CARGO). If listed, we recommend the selection and use of the items in the CARGO, because of the availability to deployed units.

Supply Management Data

Refer to the current Supply Management Data found in your Requisitioning data file for up-to-date information on unit price, unit of issue, and other supply management data.
