Definition:

The Joint Engineering Data Management Information and Control System (JEDMICS) is DoD's standard repository system for digitized engineering drawings. JEDMICS is a Joint Service Program of Record (POR) with the Joint Program Office residing within NAVAIR (AIR 6.8.4.1).

Purpose:

NATEC is the central technical data management activity for Naval Aviation engineering drawings, publications, and associated support services. The NATEC JEDMICS System, a Mission Assurance Category (MAC) II / Mission Essential IT System, is the Primary Repository and authoritative source for NAVAIR engineering drawings and associated technical data. The Navy's East Coast Disaster Recovery Site/Continuity of Operations (DRS/COOP) JEDMICS system, also managed by NATEC, is located at FRCSE Jacksonville FL.

Mission:

Increase combat effectiveness by providing cost-effective technical data and engineering technical services to the Naval Aviation community. JEDMICS is the system used to provide the most current NAVAIR engineering drawing technical data procured under contract to our customers in a timely and efficient manner. Engineering drawing technical data is received from various sources inclusive of hardware design contractors and government activities. Once received, data is reviewed and loaded into the JEDMICS system permanent inventory, available to users worldwide for Warfighter Operations' support.
